
dress code
Proper dance attire helps dancers move freely, practice safely, and build confidence in class. Please ensure your dancer follows the dress code for their class.
Pre-Ballet
Girl’s Attire: Pink or flesh tone tights, any color leotard, optional skirt/tutu
Shoes: Pink ballet slippers (shoes without ties preferred!)
Hair: Tightly secured away from the face
Boy’s Attire: Fitted clothing comfortable for movement, black ballet slippers
Jazz & Tap Combo
Girl’s Attire: Optional tights, any color leotard, optional skirt/tutu or dance shorts
Shoes: Black Mary Jane style tap shoes (velcro or elastic closure/no tie preferred), Tiny Tots will be barefoot for Jazz, Preschool and Mini combo classes will need flesh-tone jazz shoes
Hair: Tightly secured away from the face
Boy’s Attire: Fitted clothing comfortable for movement, black oxford style tap shoes
Ballet
Girl’s Attire: Pink or flesh-tone tights, any color leotard
Optional: Ballet skirt
Shoes: Pink ballet slippers (no tie preferred)
Hair: Tightly secured in a bun
Boy’s Attire: Fitted tee, black dance tights/leggings, black ballet slippers
Hip Hop and Hop & Tumble
Attire: Loose-fitting clothing comfortable for movement
Shoes: Sneakers required (please use dance-only sneakers that are not worn outside to protect our dance floors!)
All Other Styles (Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Pom, Drill Prep, Acro, Leaps, Turns, & Technique)
Attire: Form-fitting dancewear of choice. Examples include leotards, leggings, dance shorts, and tank tops.
Tights are optional. If worn for Acro, they must be convertible.
Crop tops are permitted in the studio, but a tee shirt or cover-up must be worn in and out of the dance room
Sweaters or other warm-ups may be worn for the first 10 minutes of class time only
Hair: Tightly secured away from the face
Shoe Requirements:
Tap: Black oxford-style tap shoes
Jazz, Pom, Leaps/Turns/Tech: Flesh-tone jazz shoes
Lyrical: Flesh-tone half soles/turners
Contemporary: Flesh-tone dance socks (Blochsox, Apolla Shocks)
Acro: Barefoot
